Erica Blaire Roby

A recent appearance on the Food Network show Blue Smoke Grill shows that Roby has more than a background in cooking than most people might think. She has worked under some of the most prominent chefs in the industry and was awarded a $7500 Preserve the Pit fellowship grant. A psychology graduate, Roby has worked as a wine expert and as a criminal defense attorney. Before she competed on Food Network's Food Network, she worked as a wine expert, matching wines with dishes. This work gave her the opportunity to rediscover her passion for cooking and for the kitchen. Roby grew up with a father who owned a barbecue place.

Despite her legal career, Roby decided to take up cooking barbecue after having her first child. Inspired by her father's dream, Roby decided to start a barbecue restaurant. Roby took a course in barbecue cooking with celebrity pitmaster Harry Soo. She became a certified barbecue pitmaster, and soon began working at a barbecue restaurant.


She began her passion for barbecue as a hobby, and eventually she became obsessed with it. At first, she made barbecue dishes from her back porch. In the next few years, she began to participate in barbecue competitions throughout the country, where her dishes were prepared by world-famous chefs. Since then she has started a series pop-ups throughout Dayton, Ohio. She hopes to eventually open a food truck.

Team Brawl vs. Team Brawl and Team Anne

Two of the best chefs in the world will team up to challenge each other for the title of ultimate griller in the third season of Food Network's BBQ Team Brawl. Anne Burrell and Jet Tila will take on Bobby Flay and Team Anne in a dinner-party brawl that's sure to be one to remember. The new season also features the return of "BBQ Brawl" favorite Matt Roth, who owns the Austin-based Smokin Beauty with his wife Thao.

Ann explained to the contestants what she was making, while Jet (from Food Network BBQ Team Brawl) let them choose. The result was that Team Bobby lost his ceviche, and Jet dropped some meat. This time, Team Anne has a big advantage. Anne even jumped in front of Team Bobby's contestant as he reached out for an ingredient.

Like all Food Network competitions there are many familiar faces in the new season BBQ Team Brawl. Lee Ann Whippen, a 23-year veteran of barbecuing, will be the team's judge. As well as being the managing partner at Deviled Pig Tampa, she is also a judge for Kansas City Barbecue Society. She has won many state and global barbecue championships. She also has starred in TV shows like Throwdown With Bobby Flay and BBQ Pitmasters.


Flay vs Symon was another contest for the best barbecue sandwich. Lee Ann took a more traditional approach, while Susie took a more exotic turn. Her pork belly banh mi pushed the boundaries of flavors while the judges thought it was too thick. Team Anne's burger tasted great and was well-baked.
